The story behind our collection
Button & Bell’s Hot Rods grew out of a shared life built around machines, movement, and memory by William & Summers Kenefick.
William Kenefick has spent decades building, beginning with custom motorcycles and continuing through a career grounded in hands-on design and craftsmanship. That respect for how things are made is at the center of everything here.
Life in the Texas Hill Country has shaped what this collection has become. Road trips, car shows, and long afternoons wandering through rows of old cars have turned into family traditions with their four children. The name comes from the two youngest, whose nicknames “Button” and “Bell” felt too fitting not to carry forward.
For Summers, the connection came from a different place. As a television producer covering hot rods and drag racing, she spent years around the culture without ever thinking of herself as a car person. Over time that changed. What stayed was not just the cars, but the people, the stories, and the feeling of being part of something that mattered to them.
These cars are not tucked away. They are part of everyday life. Seen throughout the Hill Country, Summers will be in the wagon after a meeting with clients grabbing groceries on the way home, or Will and the girls rolling back from school in the '57. Nothing beats a date night in the roadster. Life adventured with style.
